AMMA holds
events throughout the year to provide members with relevant, timely information
as well as opportunities to network with industry peers.
AMMA Industry Briefings – AMMA conducts industry briefings on
a regular basis at convenient locations for members. AMMA also conducts online briefings,
making it easy for members in remote locations to attend. AMMA industry
briefing forums are designed to share key developments and information which is
relevant and topical to resources industry employers. External speakers present
on a range of relevant topics. AMMA industry briefings also act as an excellent
networking opportunity facilitating the exchange of information. Members are
advised by email of upcoming briefings being held in their state. AMMA also
conducts briefings open to both members and non members, however AMMA members receive a

Interest Group (SIG) meetings - With
the support of AMMA’s members, AMMA established a number of Special Interest
Groups. These groups are an opportunity to network with colleagues within the
same field of operations, to discuss
common issues of importance and to exchange non-confidential information about

End of Year Functions –
Held in locations throughout Australia each year, usually in November, these
functions are AMMA’s way of thanking members for their support throughout the
year and to celebrate “The Year That Was” with AMMA Staff and industry

AMMA National Conference – This event is the key annual gathering
for the resources sector’s top level decision makers. The AMMA 2012 National Conference will

Migration Conference –
The AMMA 2011 Migration Conference – From passport to hardhats: Sourcing
skilled workers from overseas for the Australian resource industry – was a huge
susses and will be an annual event. The conference saw resources industry professionals
come from across Australia to attend the conference at the Perth Convention and
Exhibition Centre on July 19. Delegates interacted and heard from high calibre
of speakers about the latest developments in skilled migration including what
the government has planned to tackle the existing skills shortage. For more

AMMA East Coast
Conference –
The AMMA 2011 East Coast Conference – “The new era of workplace health and
safety & fitness for work – your rights, duties and liabilities”. Companies
in the resource industry are facing a raft of legislative changes that will come
into force on 1 January 2012 under a nationally harmonised work health and
safety system. These Changes will greatly impact on the way employers manage
